26 solo morning greetings, usually performed at night between sleep cycles, became a ritualized means of making global contact with about 400 email subscribers. the greetings included images, quotations, fictional characters, rants, recipes, non-sequiturs, moments of direct address to the audience (thank you bertolt brecht), ruminations and questions about art and current events. |
influenced by hugo ball, who has been a fictional character in my work since the 9/11/2001 attacks on the usa, the computerized greetings were an attempt to further the dadaist--and anti-war--incantations of hugo ball at cabaret voltaire, zurich, 1916.
